Changan Alsvin, Chinese automaker Changan Automobile makes a subcompact sedan known as the Changan Alsvin or Changan Yuexiang (Chinese: ). In 2014, the Changan Alsvin received a little redesign under the name Alsvin V5, which was offered as a more expensive trim and was positioned slightly above.
First generation (2009-2013)
The Changan V101 Concept served as Alsvin’s initial sneak peek during the 2008 Beijing Auto Show in April 2008. On February 7, 2009, the three-box sedan production model in Chongqing began to come off the assembly line. On March 18, 2009, the vehicle debuted in dealerships. Dambrosio Luciano created the original Alsvin at Changan’s design studio in Turin, Italy. After three years of manufacturing, a hatchback variant that had been introduced in late 2009 was no longer available due to low demand.
One of the least expensive sedans on the Chinese car market, the Changan Alsvin was first introduced in 2009 and has a price range of 53,900 to 69,900 yuan. The sole available engine is a 1.5L with 114 horsepower and a 5-speed manual transmission.
Alsvin V5 (Second generation) (2012-2017)
The Changan Auto capacity in Fangshan, Beijing, manufactures the Alsvin V5, a subcompact sedan based on the Alsvin. The Alsvin V5 is an improved version of the original Alsvin sedan. The V5 was assigned the development code B207. Launched at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, the Alsvin V5 went on the market in September of that year. The basic Alsvin sedan and the upgraded Alsvin V5 sold 52,203 units together in 2013.
identical to the initial Changan Alsvin, which had style like that of the first generation Mazda 3, the Alsvin V5 features both new front and rear DRGs and has received criticism for having styling identical to that of the second generation Mazda 3.
Third generation (2017-present)
The entirely revamped second-generation Changan Alsvin made its premiere at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show in April 2018. Priced between 49,900 and 65,900 yuan, it falls below the Changan Eado DT subcompact sedan.
The second-generation Alsvin sedan was introduced in Pakistan on January 11, 2021, and it comes in three trim levels: Comfort, powered by a 1.3 or 1.5-liter engine and available with either a manual transmission or dual-clutch transmission, and Lumiere, which has a sunroof, cruise control, and a 1.5-liter engine.
Alsvin Exterior
The new Alsvin stands out from its rivals thanks to its appearance. A butterfly grille on the front of the vehicle gives it a larger exposed surface area, increasing air intake and heat transfer per second. According to the company, the car’s dual waist design creates aerodynamic streamlining motion and lowers fuel usage. Dual-beam halogen projection headlamps that can be electrically adjusted from inside the vehicle go along with the grille. Additionally, Alsvin includes programmable LED curve daytime running lamps (DRLs). The rear lamps are two-part combination lamps that also have fog lights and a reverse lamp. For better reception, Changan Alsvin sports a piano black shark fin antenna.
Alsvin Interior

With creamy beige imitation leather seats, the Changan Alsvin’s interior is opulent. There is enough room in the automobile for 4 people to sit comfortably. The sleek and dynamic cockpit gives the cabin a modern flair. Because of the D-shaped steering, the driver has additional legroom. There are music controls on all three models of the super electronic power steering, but only the Lumiere model has buttons for cruise control. Modern safety features including dual airbags, rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, and an ABS are all standard on the Changan Alsvin. For increased visibility, Lumiere also offers heated side mirrors and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A 7-inch floating display with three different Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
Alsvin Engine

The 1370cc engine in the 1.37 liter Alsvin Comfort produces 135 Nm of torque and 99 HP of power. In comparison, the 1.5 liter Alsvin Comfort and Lumiere have a 1480cc engine that produces 105 HP and 145 Nm of torque. All of the models have in-line 4-cylinder, Euro-5-compliant Daihatsu valve variable timing (DVVT) engines.
Alsvin Mileage
The average fuel economy of Changan Alsvin is an excellent 12 to 15 km/l. Its city fuel economy is 12 km/l and its motorway fuel economy is 15–16 km/l.
Alsvin Maintenance
It is challenging to find auto components for Alsvin because Changan is a new company in Pakistan. As a result, maintaining Alsvin is not a simple task.
Alsvin Ride & Handling
A number of features are available on the new Changan Alsvin to improve the driving experience. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) that is installed on it ensures secure and controlled braking, lowering the possibility of skidding. Additionally, the vehicle has cruise control, which enables the driver to maintain a constant speed on long drives, making for a comfortable and smooth ride. With a 2535 mm wheelbase, the Alsvin offers a solid base for the car. This improves overall stability and lessens body roll, especially when turning or performing maneuvers. Additionally, the Alsvin offers enough height to handle difficult terrain and speed bumps without harming the undercarriage thanks to its 151 mm ground clearance. The Changan Alsvin has a plush interior that is both comfy and elegant.
Changan Alsvin Competitors
In the Pakistani market, Changan Alsvin has competition from the Toyota Yaris, Honda City, and KIA Picanto. Alsvin has stiff competition from the Toyota Yaris because of its similar features and pricing point. Toyota has a loyal client base in Pakistan as well, which makes it difficult for new cars to sell quickly. Although the Alsvin outperforms the Yaris in terms of contemporary amenities like steering switches, climate control, a back camera, rear speakers, etc., the Yaris has traction control while the Alsvin does not. Additionally, Yaris is more valuable because of its superior build quality.
